Seagrape shrub form

List Price:  $7.50

3 gallon pot, 24" - 30" height  - Coccoloba uvifera

Our native Seagrape is a wonderfully versatile plant that can be used as a large hedge of small to medium sized tree. Indeed it is often used as a large scale groundcover in highway plantings where it can be planted on the embankments of overpasses without irrigation.

The large, round, glossy, leathery leaves of Seagrape blend the copper of new growth with the green and orange to red of the older leaves. The evergreen foliage is moderately dense and set atop a picturesque, sprawling framework of cream to light brown trunks and branches.

Seagrape should be planted in full sun in well-drained soil. It may be grown anywhere south of Lake Okeechobee and further north along the coast. Seagrape is highly salt and drought tolerant.
