TabebuiaYellow

8' - 12' height, 25 gallon pot, ask about larger sizes  - Tabebuia caraiba

Commonly called Yellow Tab in South Florida, the accepted common names of this species are Silver Trumpet Tree or Tree of Gold. Some of the names refer to the outstanding feature of this tree, which is the thunderous explosion of yellow flowers in early winter to mid spring. Individual specimens found alone can be spectacular, but when massed such as in the median of 136th Ave. in front of the Broward County Arena the display ranks with the Cherry Trees of Washington D.C. The form of the tree is either loved or despised. The tree has silver gray-green foliage arising from a trunk with creamy gray-brown corky bark.

Yellow Tabebuia can be grown in full sun or partial shade on a wide range of soils anywhere south of Lake Okeechobee and further north near the coast. Be aware that this relatively small tree may be damaged by wind. It is more brittle than its close relative, the Pink Tabebuia.

Delivery is free in Broward, Dade, and southern Palm Beach counties.
