Slash Pine was and is one of the dominant trees in South Florida forests. It’s suitable for re-creations of natural forests or for evoking a natural image.
Slash Pine should not be planted in alkaline soils or in highly irrigated landscapes, if the water is alkaline. They eventually become a rather large tree, which periodically drops its lower branches. Hence, be careful to plant them where falling limbs will not be a hazard.
