Our native Florida Royal Palm is matched only by Date Palm for its beautiful columnar form and appearance. It adds to the appearance of any site, but be careful to consider its large size.
Royal Palms can grow anywhere south of Lake Okeechobee up to three feet per year when given plenty of water and fertilizer in full sun or light shade. They can withstand salt spray well but some leaf injury will occur on Royal Palms located adjacent to the ocean. They are not really suited for beach side planting.
